Sjögren Syndrome: Clinical Strategies for Healthcare Provider

This course is designed for an interprofessional healthcare audience involved in recognizing, supporting, referring, monitoring, or coordinating care for patients with Sjögren syndrome. The content is also relevant to physicians and physician assistants because Sjögren syndrome may first present in primary care or multispecialty settings with nonspecific symptoms such as fatigue, sicca complaints, neuropathy, cough, renal abnormalities, dental complications, or overlapping autoimmune features. Depending on practice setting and scope of practice, clinicians may contribute to recognizing red flags, supporting diagnostic workup, interpreting clinical findings, prescribing or monitoring symptomatic therapies, identifying medication-related dryness, coordinating specialty referrals, educating patients, and monitoring for complications such as interstitial lung disease, renal tubular acidosis, vasculitis, neuropathy, and lymphoma.
