Needle Cricothyrotomy/Paravertebral Block/Obstetric Anesthesia

The goal of this program is to improve oxygenation during difficult airway emergencies, paravertebral block (PVB) for breast surgery, and use of obstetric anesthesia. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Apply catheter-over-needle cricothyrotomy for rapid oxygenation during airway emergencies. 2. Implement early front-of-the-neck access in traumatic airway before critical desaturation occurs. 3. Select appropriate injection strategies in PVB for breast surgery. 4. Identify risk factors for maternal suicide during pregnancy and postpartum. 5. Assess neuraxial anesthesia failure rates for postpartum tubal ligation.
