Advancements in CAR T-Cell Therapy for Acute Myeloid Leukemia: Overcoming Barriers and Optimizing Therapeutic Outcomes

There has been considerable success of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting CD19 in B-cell malignancies; however, the challenges posed by acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remain. This session aims to explore CAR T-cell therapy in the context of AML. It will review recent advances in novel epitope engineering strategies to reduce on-target/off-tumor toxicity and challenges in generating effective T-cell therapies. The ongoing efforts in identifying potential CAR-T cell targets for AML and potential future directions for CAR T-cell targets will be discussed.
