Alcohol Use Screening in Healthcare: From Awareness to Action Practical Approaches for Providers (Recording)

This 90-minute recorded webinar will highlight why conversations about alcohol use are critical to patient care and public health, with a focus on outpatient and urgent care settings. Participants will explore the Time to Ask model, designed to empower health care professionals to confidently address alcohol consumption and AUD. Attendees will discover how brief conversations can be integrated into clinical practice without adding significant time burden. The session will also cover common barriers to screening, best practices for patient-centered discussions (including trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and destigmatizing language), and evidence-based treatment options, including medications for AUD.
