Asthma Therapy/Immune Deficiency

The goal of this program is to improve pediatric asthma management using current guidelines and the recognition and management of primary immune deficiency. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Implement Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) and National Institutes of Health (NIH) guidelines for pediatric asthma management. 2. Apply the Single Maintenance and Reliever Therapy (SMART) strategy in children with asthma. 3. Assess asthma control using symptom frequency, impairment, and exacerbation risk. 4. Identify red flags indicating possible primary immune deficiency in children. 5. Select appropriate screening laboratory tests for suspected primary immune deficiency.
