Distinguish pathology that needs surgical / procedural care versus medical care. 4. Identify pulmonary emboli. 5. Evaluate for hemopericardium versus pericardial effusion. 6. Distinguish pneumonia from edema. 7. Identify what kind of emphysema is present as means of gauging severity. 8. Recognize signs of CHF and differentiate from pneumonia. 9. Recognize cancer, identify signs of invasion, and differentiate emergent versus subacute disease. 10. Recognize signs of mediastinal inflammation.
