This discussion reviews the role of SAVR/TAVR compared to CS on clinical outcomes for patients with asymptomatic severe aortic stenosis (AS), evaluating the potential benefits and challenges of performing AVR intervention in asymptomatic AS patients. Faculty discuss clinical outcomes based on data from randomized controlled trials and meta-analysis findings, explore emerging data suggesting improved survival and lower rates of unplanned cardiovascular or heart failure-related hospitalizations and stroke when patients undergo AVR compared to CS, and assess the benefits and challenges of AVR intervention using data from the recently published systematic review article.
