Healthcare clinicians from every discipline face the challenge of supporting patients through change in their lives. This can be especially challenging when providing care on campus. One of the greatest challenges is helping with the transformation of emotional and behavioral responses. Emotion-focused healthcare on campus is rooted in teaching clinicians from any discipline some of the therapeutic skills used to support those changes. In this presentation, you will learn about the foundations of emotion-focused work, learn skills to engage students from this frame and learn more about yourself and your work using this perspective. You will leave the talk with tangible skills to help students navigate through their emotions in healthy ways and help facilitate behavioral change.
