The Education in Palliative and End-of-Life Care (EPEC)-Pediatrics program is now the most comprehensive PPC curriculum and education dissemination project worldwide. The EPEC-Pediatrics Train-the-Trainer course has been offered since 2012 to 1,517 clinicians from 100 countries (Postier et al., 2021). Originally funded by a $1.6 USD million NIH/NCI grant between 2010-2017 (PI: Stefan Friedrichsdorf, MD), this extensive curriculum was designed to address the needs of seriously ill children, their families, pediatric hematology/oncology providers, and other pediatric clinicians. The curriculum includes 24 pediatric palliative care modules, 18 of which are available online. The curriculum aims to improve knowledge, attitude, and skills in key areas of PPC and to prepare participants to teach PPC in their own environments.
