Exploring the Role of Minimal Residual Disease Status in Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myeloma (Enduring)

Minimal residual disease (MRD) testing has emerged as a powerful prognostic marker in multiple myeloma, with numerous studies in both newly diagnosed and relapsed/refractory disease (RRMM) demonstrating its strong association with progression-free and overall survival. Increasingly adopted as a surrogate end point in clinical trials, MRD testing is now recognized as an important tool to guide treatment decision-making, yet community uptake remains limited due to logistical barriers, lack of testing resources, and uncertainty around clinical application. In this program, leading hematologist/oncologists share expert guidance on current testing recommendations and the evolving role of MRD in RRMM, discussing how it informs prognosis, treatment planning, and outcomes prediction. Faculty will also address practical strategies to overcome barriers, interpret MRD results, and integrate testing into routine practice ultimately supporting improved patient outcomes in RRMM.
