Identifying Clinical Quality & Patient Safety Concerns in Rural Health Settings

Community and rural health settings present unique quality and patient safety challenges due to limited resources, smaller teams, and close relationships with patients and the surrounding community. This activity focuses on helping healthcare professionals and staff recognize quality and safety concerns early, understand the importance of reporting risks, errors, and near misses, and apply a quality and safety mindset in daily practice. Through real world scenarios and role based examples, learners will explore how increased awareness, transparency, and timely reporting contribute to safer systems of care. The activity emphasizes proactive and reactive identification of concerns, principles of safety culture, and the shared responsibility of all team members clinical and non clinical in supporting safe, reliable care for patients and communities.
