This presentation will review diagnostic criteria for eating disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, and Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) and will discuss screening tools for providers to use in the assessment of their clients and patients. This presentation will extrapolate diagnostic criteria and assessment to include cultural competence and social justice viewpoints through the cultural adaptation framework for evidence-based treatment. Finally, discussion regarding levels of care and identifying the appropriate care setting will support providers in applying diagnostic criteria, assessment tools, and cultural competency to their practice.
