This program will cover the topic of inpatient use of buprenorphine for pain management. The presenters will review the pharmacology of buprenorphine including its mechanism of action and safety profile. They will discuss practical applications for using buprenorphine for pain management as well as common dosing and routes of administration. Case studies will be used to illustrate use scenarios. Limitations and logistics will also be reviewed for coverage and continuation of these medications beyond the hospital setting.
