Leader Experience – Module 3: Master Self-Care

Master Self-Care focuses on the personal sustainability required for effective long-term leadership, including one of a leader’s most valuable and limited resources: time. Healthcare leaders routinely carry significant cognitive, emotional, and operational responsibilities while balancing competing priorities, constant demands, and responsibilities outside of work. Without intentional management of time, energy, and wellbeing, prolonged leadership demands can gradually affect judgment, relationships, communication, engagement, effectiveness, and ultimately the ability to lead well. Through Achieving Work-Life Harmony and Time Mastery and Avoiding Burnout in Leadership, learners will examine how leadership demands interact with personal priorities, explore how they currently use their time and energy, and identify opportunities to work and lead more intentionally. Learners will develop practical approaches to prioritization, time management, delegation, boundaries, and protecting time for what matters most, while also learning to recognize the warning signs of depletion and factors that contribute to leadership burnout. This module isn’t about squeezing more into an already full schedule or simply becoming better at tolerating unsustainable conditions. It is about learning to manage your time, protect your energy, and create the capacity to lead with clarity, presence, purpose, and sustainability.
