Managing the Risks: ARIA Detection and Adverse Event Management in Patients Prescribed Anti-Amyloid Beta Monoclonal Antibody Therapy

Anti-amyloid beta monoclonal antibody therapies (anti-A mAbs) for early-stage Alzheimer s disease (AD) represent a welcome development as the first disease-modifying treatments in the space. However, with their variety of class-specific considerations, their integration into practice can require significant workflow modifications and heightened interdisciplinary coordination. To assist practicing clinicians in designing and/or enhancing care delivery platforms related to the use of anti-A mAbs, this three-part series features a panel of neurology and radiology specialists walking through examples of how they leverage their electronic health records (EHR) and other related protocols to streamline the identification and management of patients eligible for these therapies. This third activity focuses on the detection of amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA) and adverse event management in patients prescribed anti-A mAb therapy.
