Multisite Validation of a Venous Thrombosis Risk Model in Critically Ill Children Through the CHAT Consortium

The goal of this activity is for learners to be better able to prospectively validate the children’s healthcare advancements in thrombosis (CHAT) intensive care unit (ICU) VTE risk assessment model (RAM) containing 5 clinically significant variables: central venous catheter (CVC), immobility, congenital heart disease (CHD), autoimmune or inflammatory conditions, and hospital stay of 3 days, based on a multicenter cohort study at 32 US centers in the CHAT consortium that prospectively enrolled and followed over 4500 pediatric ICU (PICU) patients.
