Optimizing Obesity Care in Women Across the Reproductive Lifespan: From Preconception to Postpartum

This enduring activity highlights national and local faculty discussion and aims to improve OB/GYNs ability to recognize obesity-related maternal and fetal risks and to deliver evidence-informed, chronic disease-based obesity management across the reproductive lifespan. As a result of this educational curriculum, learners will be better able to: 1. Outline maternal and fetal risks associated with untreated obesity across the reproductive lifespan; 2. Evaluate individualized, evidence-informed obesity management strategies for women across the reproductive lifespan, including preconception and postpartum care; and, 3. Integrate chronic disease based obesity care into OB/GYN practice, including risk staging beyond BMI, longitudinal follow-up, and coordination with primary care. Learners have access to downloadable materials and a clinical practice resource for continued learning.
