Paired Kidney Donation and Advanced Approaches in Transplantation

Paired kidney donation (PKD) and innovative methods such as the advanced donation program (ADP) are gaining increased significance amid the ongoing challenges and implications of kidney transplantation. This session will delve into the intricacies, outcomes, and challenges of these methods and provide comparison between PKD and traditional live-donor kidney transplantation. Participants will gain insight into the rationale behind PKD, especially in scenarios where ABO-incompatible transplants present added risk and cost. The current utilization and future potential of ADP will also be discussed.
