Pediatric Emergencies

At the conclusion of the activity, learners will be able to: 1. Master communication skills with children and their parents. 2. Determine what workup is appropriate when presented with a febrile illness in infants, children, and adolescents. 3. Identify upper airway versus lower airway causes of respiratory distress. 4. Correctly identify and treat patients with acute appendicitis using the most relevant evidence based recommendations. 5. Administer immediate lifesaving treatments (or modalities) to ensure the best possible outcome for patients experiencing anaphylaxis. 6. Master how to manage pediatric concussions including when to initiate a return to play protocol for young athletes.
