Peds EM Bootcamp Assessment

The Peds Emergency Medicine Bootcamp (PEMB) Assessment is a comprehensive, enduring educational activity designed to support clinicians who care for pediatric patients in the emergency setting. Through a 100-item case-based, multiple-choice assessment, the PEMB Assessment enables learners to evaluate and expand their clinical knowledge, enhance diagnostic and management skills, increase confidence, and improve clinical decision-making by reducing cognitive errors. This activity addresses core and advanced topics in pediatric emergency medicine, encompassing all major organ systems, trauma, critical care, child abuse, procedural skills, and other high-yield, practice-relevant subjects. Questions are structured to reflect real-world scenarios commonly encountered in the pediatric emergency department, ensuring practical application of evidence-based principles. The PEMB Assessment is appropriate for emergency medicine physicians, PAs, nurse practitioners, residents, interns, and medical students who evaluate and treat pediatric patients presenting with acute medical problems. At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to: (1) Identify critical knowledge gaps essential for enhancing routine clinical practice in pediatric emergency medicine. (2) Analyze key concepts related to foundational topics in pediatric emergency medicine. (3) Evaluate literature and evidence-based recommendations to drive pediatric emergency medicine practice improvement. (4) Utilize evidence-based approaches to enhance diagnostic workflows and create effective, patient-centered treatment plans in pediatric emergency medicine using case-based assessment questions. (5) Practice critical thinking and ensure informed decision-making in pediatric emergency care.
