Pulmonary Embolism Clinical Documentation

This course explores the clinical and documentation challenges associated with pulmonary embolism (PE), emphasizing diagnostic specificity, acuity, severity, and physiologic impact. Learners will examine distinctions among acute, subacute, and chronic PE; clarify classifications such as massive, submassive, and low-risk PE; and identify key features including clot location, right heart strain, and the presence or absence of acute cor pulmonale. Through real-world clinical scenarios and documentation comparisons, learners will apply structured documentation strategies to enhance patient safety and continuity of care.
