This live webinar course is designed to enhance the preparedness of VHA employees aspiring to leadership roles and to serve as a refresher for new-to-seasoned supervisors. A recent needs assessment identified clear gaps in leadership capability across VHA, noting that healthcare delivery is constantly changing, which leads to knowledge gaps requiring ongoing development to maintain current competencies. Additional evaluation data from previous CE activities and formal discussions further validated the need for training in areas such as advanced interpersonal communication, strategic career advancement, understanding supervisory expectations, and giving/receiving developmental feedback. This course addresses these documented gaps by providing foundational-to-intermediate leadership knowledge that strengthens workplace communication, enhances the ability to navigate Veteran interactions, fosters cohesive team environments, and equips participants to engage in more meaningful development discussions ultimately improving leadership competence, performance, and the Veteran care experience.
