SonoSim Ultrasound Training Solution Renal: Core Clinical Ultrasound Module

The Renal: Core Clinical Ultrasound Module teaches one how to use sonography to evaluate the kidneys. The course begins by reviewing anatomy of the kidneys, ureters, and bladder. Sonographic anatomy of the kidneys is then presented. Optimal transducer selection, imaging techniques, and scanning approaches for assessing normal and pathologic conditions of the kidneys are described in detail. Case studies on obstructive uropathy, hydronephrosis, and renal masses are discussed. The course concludes with imaging pearls and pitfalls, and a summary of salient teaching points. One develops the requisite cognitive task awareness and visuospatial skills required to perform sonographic evaluations of the kidneys through 10 different hands-on simulation cases.
