The goal of this program is to improve management of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and related disorders and preoperative evaluations. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Evaluate the history and clinical presentation of patients with stress disorders. 2. Recognize the pathophysiology of PTSD. 3. Develop treatment strategies for patients with PTSD. 4. Perform a preoperative assessment, including pharmacologic modifications, for patients who require surgical management. 5. Apply concepts of preoperative assessment for patients requiring surgical management.
