Trauma Workshop 2026

Pediatric trauma, a serious, potentially disabling and/or life-threatening injury to a child, is the leading cause of disability for children in the United States. Research has found that children treated at pediatric trauma centers have a lower mortality risk compared to children treated at adult trauma centers. New practitioners have minimal experience working with patient resuscitations. They lack knowledge and skills about the pediatric trauma population and their responsibilities as part of an interdisciplinary team in the trauma bay. Staff caring for patients at CCHMC must be competent to provide the optimal care in a Level 1 pediatric trauma center.
