Balancing Increased Costs with Decreasing Reimbursements/Methadone

The goal of this program is to patient satisfaction through maintenance of independence in private anesthesia practice and perioperative use of methadone for analgesia. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Identify key threats to independent anesthesia practice sustainability. 2. Explain outcomes in private equity buyouts of anesthesiology groups. 3. Cite inefficiencies in anesthesiology practice associated with new requirements from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. 4. Describe the unique pharmacokinetic properties of methadone for perioperative analgesia. 5. Select appropriate intravenous methadone dosing for surgical patients.
