Burnout in Healthcare: Swimming in Turbulent Waters

Half of physician and nurse populations have at least one symptom of burnout. Researchers are finding that healthcare systems changes must accompany personal resilience strategies before we will see a drop in the incidence of clinician burnout. This activity discusses six strategies three individual and three institutional ones which, by helping to lower the incidence of clinician burnout will augment patient safety and reduce medical malpractice risk for facilities and individuals.
