The goal of this program is to improve management of celiac disease, gluten sensitivity and allergy testing and immune defficiency evaluation in children. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to: 1. Utilize tissue transglutaminase IgA antibody and total IgA for screening. 2. Implement strict lifelong gluten-free diet for patients with celiac disease. 3. Identify clinical features suggesting celiac disease vs gluten sensitivity. 4. Differentiate appropriate use of food vs environmental allergy panels. 5. Interpret quantitative immunoglobulins and pneumococcal titers for recurrent infections.
