Electrophysiology Study and Ablation of Ventricular Tachycardia

Electrophysiology study (EPS) and catheter ablation are essential diagnostic and therapeutic tools for managing ventricular tachycardia (VT), particularly in patients with structural heart disease or refractory arrhythmias. EPS identifies arrhythmogenic foci and abnormal conduction pathways, guiding targeted ablation to eliminate VT circuits. Catheter ablation has been shown to reduce VT burden, decrease implantable cardiac defibrillator shocks, improve quality of life, and lower hospitalization rates. While it is a complex procedure requiring specialized expertise, advancements in mapping technologies and ablation strategies have improved efficacy and safety, making it a cornerstone in VT management. Clinicians participating in this course gain comprehensive knowledge of VT pathophysiology, patient selection for EPS and ablation, procedural techniques, and post-ablation management. This course enhances clinician’s ability to interpret electrophysiologic findings, optimize antiarrhythmic therapy, and recognize complications. By improving technical skills and interdisciplinary collaboration, clinicians are better equipped to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care, ultimately improving patient outcomes with ventricular arrhythmias.
