Desired Outcomes 1. Identify key anatomical structures of the female reproductive system on ultrasound. 2. Select the appropriate ultrasound probe for first-trimester pregnancy evaluation based on clinical condi-tions and gestational age. 3. Select the most appropriate technique for determining gestational age in first trimester pregnancy. 4. Define a definitive intrauterine pregnancy, nonviable pregnancy, indeterminate pregnancy, ectopic preg-nancy on ultrasound. 5. Use M-mode ultrasound to measure fetal heart rate and determine if it falls within the normal range. 6. Discuss the significance of findings when evaluating for intrauterine or ectopic pregnancy. 7. Differentiate between normal and abnormal first trimester ultrasound findings. 8. Interpret ultrasound images in the context of clinical presentations to guide next steps in management. 9. Assess the appropriateness of adjusting an estimated due date (EDD) based on discrepancies between last menstrual period (LMP) and ultrasound findings across different trimesters.
