Learn about concepts of the American Medical Association s Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding and payment for services on the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS). In this highly interactive and case-based course, faculty will provide a historical introduction and overview of how current coding, RUC valuations, and billing practices were developed and how the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) values codes on the PFS. Faculty will discuss how CPT codes are modified, and the steps involved. Aspects of payment policy (e.g., National Correct Coding Initiative [NCCI]) will also be covered.
