GLP-1 for All? Investigating Incretin Based Therapies in Heart Failure Patients – Olivia Huber PharmD, Subarna Dhital MD, Michael Garren MD, Evan Klein MD, Elise Strycharske NP, and Jessica Norman PharmD

This series will utilize lectures, cases, and panel discussions aimed at enhancing knowledge and competence among fellows, advanced practice providers, MDs, and referring physicians specializing in advanced heart failure and transplant, cardiothoracic surgery and cardiac ICU. The evolving series will be designed with input from learners. We will cover a wide range of topics pertaining to advances in AHFTx, best practices, and examination of patient outcomes. As a result of participation in this educational activity, members of the healthcare team will increase their ability to: 1. Describe the mechanisms of action and key practical considerations for the use of GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs). 2. Evaluate current clinical evidence regarding the safety and efficacy of GLP-1 RAs in patients with heart failure. 3. Discuss the potential role of GLP-1 RAs in facilitating peri-transplant weight management among heart failure patients.
