Listening Campaign: Engage Physicians to Uncover and Address Sources of Burnout

Professional burnout affects more than half of all physicians in the United States, which can have devastating effects on physician well-being and the experience, quality, and safety of patient care. Physicians and physician groups need a practical process for voicing their stressors and proposing ideas for improvement. Surveys can help, but sometimes they’re not enough to help professionals feel heard or capture the context needed to inform meaningful improvement. This toolkit introduces the Listening Campaign as a practical, structured approach to eliciting physician feedback through facilitated listening sessions and using that feedback to prioritize improvement efforts.
