Male Infertility

Male infertility is a common contributor to couple infertility and may result from endocrine, genetic, testicular, post-testicular, medication-related, infectious, environmental, or functional causes. Evaluation requires timely semen analysis, targeted hormonal and genetic testing, assessment for reversible conditions, and coordination with reproductive specialists when assisted reproductive options are needed. Clinicians may inconsistently obtain appropriate repeat semen analyses, recognize indications for hormonal or genetic evaluation, counsel patients about testosterone-related infertility, or select evidence-based referral and treatment pathways. This continuing medical education activity addresses this gap by reviewing the epidemiology, differential diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of male infertility, including lifestyle modification, varicocele repair, gonadotropic therapy, reproductive technologies, and counseling. Participants are expected to gain practical strategies to improve diagnostic accuracy, risk assessment, patient counseling, complication prevention, and interprofessional coordination to support patient-centered reproductive outcomes.
