Medial Epicondyle Injection

Medial epicondylitis, commonly known as golfer s elbow, is an overuse injury resulting from tendinosis at the medial elbow involving the origin of the flexor-pronator muscle group. Patients typically present with a gradual onset of medial elbow pain exacerbated by activity, with examination findings including tenderness over the medial epicondyle and pain with resisted wrist flexion and pronation. Initial management is conservative, with consistently favorable outcomes, incorporating activity modification, bracing, analgesic administration, and physical therapy. Injection therapies, including corticosteroids, prolotherapy, and platelet-rich plasma, may be considered for patients with persistent or function-limiting symptoms despite appropriate nonoperative care.
