MSK Essentials is designed to educate healthcare providers in the essential principles of ultrasound exams commonly performed in Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy, and Orthopedic Medicine. Musculoskeletal ultrasound is a powerful tool that can enhance patient care by immediately determining if a patient is or is not a candidate for physical therapy, recognizing the severity of a patient s injury, visualizing joints in post-treatment sessions, and identifying the need for other imaging. The MSK Essentials course is comprised of several comprehensive training modules that guide learners through the hands-on scanning techniques and protocols required to accurately visualize and identify normal and pathological musculoskeletal anatomy on ultrasound. Training modules include: Ultrasound Basics; MSK Upper Extremity: Wrist and Hand, Elbow, and Shoulder; MSK Patient Cases: Foot and Ankle; MSK Lower Extremity: Hip, Knee, Foot and Ankle; MSK Patient Cases: Shoulder; and Guided Needling.
