Pain Management in Primary Care: Translating Principles into Practice (February PCN 2027)

An experienced clinician moderator facilitates peer discussion and faculty-led Q&A, offering timely, practical insights that address common clinical challenges. Closed captioning is provided to enhance accessibility for hearing-impaired learners and to support inclusive participation. This interactive, case-based format strengthens engagement and supports direct translation of learning into patient care. Upon completion, learners will be able to: define key pain management concepts; assess pain and identify risk factors for nonmedical opioid use and opioid use disorder; evaluate nonpharmacologic and non-opioid therapies; review appropriate opioid use and limitations; safely initiate, adjust, and discontinue opioid therapy; counsel patients on safe use, storage, disposal, and overdose reversal; develop individualized pain management plans; and diagnose and manage opioid use disorder using evidence-based approaches and appropriate referrals.
