Pulmonary Disease and Sleep-Related Issues: Patient-Centered Clinical Care of African Americans

This session will review the distinct differences in the occurrence and presentation of asthma, COPD, and pulmonary embolism in communities of color, as well as the impact of smoking on disease progression. We will also examine the overlap between asthma and COPD, along with differences in pulmonary fibrosis. In addition, we will discuss significant racial and ethnic disparities in sleep quality, sleep duration, and obstructive sleep apnea.
