SonoSim Ultrasound Training Solution OB/GYN: Core Clinical Ultrasound Module

Pelvic ultrasound is obviously invaluable for obstetricians and gynecologists, but it also has important implications for the day-to-day practice of emergency and primary care physicians. The OB/GYN: Core Clinical Ultrasound Module teaches the fundamental imaging principles and techniques required to evaluate the female pelvis using bedside ultrasonography. The course begins with a review of female pelvic anatomy, embryology, and first-trimester fetal development. Sonographic anatomy and sonographic techniques are discussed and include both transabdominal and endovaginal imaging approaches. Case studies are presented on commonly encountered obstetric and gynecologic conditions, including different intrauterine and extrauterine pregnancies, ovarian cysts, and intrauterine device (IUD) location. Learners develop OB/GYN sonography skills through 20 hands-on scanning cases from real patients.
