Female sexual dysfunction affects approximately 40% of women in the U.S., yet only 28% of ob-gyns routinely assess sexual health and fewer than 14% screen for sexual dysfunction. Despite professional guidelines from ACOG, NAMS, and ISSWSH emphasizing proactive sexual health care, persistent gaps in medical and nursing education result in inadequate clinician training, leading to missed diagnoses, patient dissatisfaction, and suboptimal care. Healthcare providers consistently report insufficient knowledge, confidence, and skills to address sexual health concerns in routine practice, creating a significant practice gap that impacts patient quality of life, emotional well-being, and relationship satisfaction. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: After participating in this activity, learners will be able to: 1. Recognize common and complex presentations of female sexual dysfunction, including hypoactive sexual desire disorder, female sexual arousal disorder, orgasmic disorders, and sexual health concerns in pregnant and midlife women 2. Apply validated screening tools and evidence-based clinical frameworks to assess and diagnose female sexual dysfunction using biopsychosocial approaches 3. Integrate trauma-informed, culturally sensitive communication strategies into patient conversations about sexual health concerns 4. Develop individualized treatment plans for female sexual dysfunction and establish appropriate referral pathways for complex cases
