Sessions from the 2026 spring meeting. Learning Objectives: Identify and adapt regional anesthesia strategies in the setting of anatomic variability when standard block techniques fail to provide adequate anesthesia. Apply regional anesthesia techniques as a diagnostic tool to differentiate sources of acute pain (somatic vs visceral) and guide management during acute pain consultations. Explain the physiologic effects of regional anesthesia induced sympathectomy on tissue perfusion, with specific relevance to graft survival and postoperative outcomes. Evaluate the impact of regional anesthesia on surgical and patient-centered outcomes in high-risk or nontraditional clinical scenarios. Analyze clinical situations in which regional anesthesia may serve as a life-saving intervention and integrate these principles into perioperative decision-making.
