Advancing Secondary Stroke Prevention: How the Latest Evidence Informs Team-Based Practice

This enduring activity takes a multidisciplinary approach to improve clinicians’ knowledge and competence in applying current and emerging secondary stroke prevention strategies for high-risk patients. As a result of this educational curriculum, learners will be better able to: 1. Discuss evidence-based strategies for secondary stroke prevention, including risk factor modification; 2. Outline the potential role of FXIa inhibitors in closing current long-term management gaps for patients who have had a non-cardioembolic ischemic stroke or TIA; and, 3. Design multidisciplinary, long-term secondary stroke treatment plans that effectively leverage all members of the stroke care team, including cardiologists. Learners have access to downloadable materials. CME and ABIM MOC credit available.
