Learning Disorder

Learning disorders are neurodevelopmental conditions characterized by persistent difficulties in reading, writing, or mathematics despite normal intellectual ability and adequate educational opportunity. These disorders interfere with the acquisition, organization, retention, comprehension, or application of verbal and nonverbal information, often leading to academic underachievement and psychosocial challenges. Early identification and tailored intervention are essential to mitigate long-term educational and emotional consequences, requiring close collaboration among healthcare providers, educators, and families. This activity provides clinicians with evidence-based guidance on recognizing, assessing, and managing learning disorders. This activity also emphasizes the roles of primary care pediatricians, child and adolescent psychiatrists, developmental specialists, nurses, therapists, and other interprofessional team members in delivering coordinated, patient-centered care. By focusing on interdisciplinary collaboration, the activity aims to enhance clinical competence, improve patient outcomes, and support the overall well-being of children and adolescents affected by learning disorders.
