The Voices of Myasthenia Gravis: Using Real Patient Experiences to Guide the Care Journey and Optimal Use of FcRn Antagonism

Despite recent therapeutic advances, many patients with myasthenia gravis (MG) still experience diagnostic delay, limited symptom control, and a reduced quality of life (QoL). Clinicians report uncertainty recognizing heterogeneous MG presentations and integrating new options such as neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) antagonists into individualized care. Compounding this are ongoing challenges in recognizing variable MG presentations, aligning treatment goals through shared decision-making (SDM), and inconsistent assessment of psychiatric comorbidities and patient-reported outcomes. Education that integrates real patient experiences and current evidence is needed to help clinicians improve diagnostic accuracy, optimize therapy selection, and deliver more compassionate, collaborative, and outcomes-driven care. In this EfficientCME recorded webcast, expert faculty will guide learners to recognize and evaluate varying phenotypes of MG for early and accurate diagnosis, evaluate the mechanisms of action and latest data for emerging agents such as FcRn antagonists and communicate this with patients to create individualized MG treatments that consider adverse effects and QoL considerations to improve overall patient wellbeing.
