Emerging Principles & Practices for Imaging

Emerging Principles & Practices for Imaging is a 1-hour enduring CME activity within the NMOSD Grand Rounds educational series. This session focuses on the evolving role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) in the diagnosis and differentiation of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD). Faculty review imaging features incorporated into current diagnostic criteria and discuss distinguishing characteristics of NMOSD compared with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD) and multiple sclerosis (MS). The activity also highlights imaging red flags that may indicate alternative diagnoses. Through case-based examples and evidence-based discussion, this session is designed to improve clinician competence in interpreting imaging findings to support accurate and timely diagnosis
