Updates in Diagnosing and Treating CIDP

Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) is a heterogeneous immune-mediated neuropathy that requires accurate diagnosis and individualized treatment strategies. This CME/CE activity examines the evolving understanding of CIDP pathophysiology, including the roles of innate and adaptive immune responses, macrophage activation, complement pathways, and T- and B-cell dysregulation in demyelination and nerve injury. Faculty will review current diagnostic approaches and strategies to differentiate CIDP from mimicking neuropathies, alongside guidance from the 2021 EAN/PNS recommendations. The program also highlights advances in immunoglobulin therapy, including the transition from intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) to subcutaneous (SCIG) and the development of facilitated SCIG formulations, supported by evidence from key trials such as ICE, PATH, and ADVANCE-CIDP. Participants will gain practical insights to optimize treatment selection, personalize therapy based on patient needs, and improve functional outcomes and quality of life for individuals living with CIDP.
